Isabella Farrand

Bella supports research on microbial and enzymatic systems for biomass conversion. She assists with experiments growing engineered yeast and bacteria, including adaptive laboratory evolution and analyzing protein expression. She helps generate standard curves to evaluate chemical concentrations, documents experimental procedures, and will assist with Orbitrap data analysis this winter. Her work contributes to uncovering strategies for improving enzymes and microbial systems for future biotechnological applications.

In her free time, Bella can be found at the REC Center getting a lift in or playing volleyball on the beach
